Additional Information

On Thursday, February 16, beginning at 7PM, the Rice County Historical Society will host a program on stones found along the Straight River presented by Larry Richie.

Did you know the Native Americans used stones as cooking utensils? Larry will share his collection of stones gathered along the Straight River since 2013. He will talk about the process he’s gone through to identify these stones, the barriers he’s met along the way, and how he believes they were made and used.

The cost of the event is $2 for non-RCHS members/free for members. Preregistration is not required but appreciated.

This event is held in the Rice County Historical Society’s Carlander Family Room. For more information about the event or reserve your spot, call the RCHS museum at (507) 332-2121.
