Morehouse Chalet To Open

The Morehouse Chalet will tentatively open on January 2nd at noon. The river is not yet safe for skating but the two south ponds and inline rink will be open. Chalet hours will be:

Weekdays 3-9pm

Sunday noon till 9:30pm

and Saturday, Holidays and School Vacation Days 11-9:30pm

Traffic Fatal

Authorities are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Steele County resulting in the death of a Medford man. The accident occurred just after 7 this morning on Highway 218 at the 35 Mile Post. A southbound vehicle operated by 50 year old Mark Smith of Medford spun out of control crossed the center line and was broadsided on the passenger side  by a northbound vehicle operated by 31 year old Alicia Westendorf of Austin
