I grew up in Hibbing, MN. (No. I don’t know Kevin McHale. But I did graduate with his sister.) I played sports video games on the old Atari system and that developed into an interest in doing sports play-by-play. After a year at the University of MN and a year at Brown Institute I landed in South Dakota. Two years later I made my way back to the State of Hockey. I started working at KRFO during the aftermath of the Halloween Blizzard of 1991. Covering home games is easy. I enjoy following the Huskies on the road as often as possible. (It’s kind of a goal of mine to get into a new gym or arena each year.) I won’t pick a favorite sport here. So let me just say that the variety of my job is a highlight. Football, volleyball, basketball, hockey, wrestling, baseball, softball, and a little soccer. I play all those great Oldies on AM 1390 every day, but I’m really a fan of the country music on Kat Kountry 105. My wife is Chris. Our children are Cynthia (student at Wisconsin-Eau Claire) and Aaron (sophomore in high school).
