In 25 years over $2,000,000 has been raised by the Steele County Relay for Life. Hundreds attended Friday night's fundraiser.

The Radel Pavilion on the Steele County fairgrounds was filled with luminary bags, auction items, walkers and, most of all, hope for Friday's relay for life.

The Steele County Blades junior hockey team and Owatonna's Youth 1st organization presented a check to the Steele County Relay for Life last week.

The Steele County Relay for Life will be coming up this July once again. Money is raised in the fight against cancer. Saturday, February 18, the Relay will host a large craft and vendor fair at the Owatonna Eagles. Hours will be 9AM to 2PM. The Steele County Blades junior hockey team swept a three-game series over Detroit at the Four Seasons Centre. Friday was Federated night and Stick it to Cancer night.

The battle against cancer took on the additional challenge of a strong thunderstorm during the Steele County Relay for Life early Saturday morning in Owatonna.
