Owatonna Eagles Cancer Auction Asking for Volunteers
The Owatonna Eagles #1791 58th Cancer Auction is coming up quick. Less than a month away, and they are hard at work getting everything set up. The auction takes place over two days, Friday, February 7th, starting at 6 pm, and Saturday, February 8th, starting at 4 pm.
Auction items are donated from individuals and businesses from the area, and all donors are recognized during the auction. Last year, the auction raised more than $52,000, that's a hefty chunk of change. 100% of the proceeds raised from this event stay in Minnesota and will benefit the following cancer research facilities:
- Mayo Clinic Cancer Center
- Hormel Institute for Cancer Research
- University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center
Well, with all of the work that goes in to putting on this auction, you can imagine it must take a small army to get everything done. You aren't wrong, it does take many many helpful hands to get everything set up for such an event. So, the Owatonna Eagles Cancer Auction Committee is asking for help. They are in need of volunteers to assist with the preparations for the auction. In talking to Nola Olson yesterday, she said even 15 minutes is helpful, an hour, or more. Whatever a person is willing to do to help with the auction.
If you are willing and able to help out with this year's cancer auction, reach out to Nola Olson, phone number 507-213-9799. They will take any amount of time you can give. And, it's all for a great cause, because, who hasn't been affected by cancer in some way?
