Nort Johnson, CEO/President of Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism was happy to announce today Vetrotech, makers of bullet-and-hurricane-resistant glass is coming to Faribault.

According to their website Vetrotech has been producing their, "superior fire-resistant and fire-protective safety glass, including fire-rated doors, systems and curtain wall, intruder, impact-bullet-and-huricane-resistant glass for more than 35 years".

They also have, " a full line of clear fire-rated glazing products that protect from 20 to 180 minutes. These products combine a minimalistic appearance with maximum safety and performance." as quoted on their website.

Johnson shared he had the pleasure of meeting some employees of the company who will be moving to Faribault within the next 10 weeks to set up work with Sage Glass.

Both are owned by Saint-Gobain which is based in France.  The company is now present in 75 countries.

Johnson reported about ten people visited with Mayor Kevin Voracek and some Chamber executives about all the things Faribault has to offer.

He said they appeared to be very impressed with downtown Faribault and the efforts to preserve the historical district.

They will be moving from the Seattle, Washington area.

When they have everything ready to go approximately 40 employees will be working for Vetrotech in Faribault.

The Saint-Gobain website states they are, "Committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050."

Sage Glass in Faribault manufactures electronically tintable windows and employs 300 people at their 8 acre site.
