Rochester Man’s Plea Agreement Covers Long List of Charges
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has entered guilty pleas to the list of charges to settle five separate criminal cases.
Court records indicate the criminal complaints were filed against 23-year-old Leonton Marshawn Troy between late December of last year and March. The most recent case resulted in a first-degree burglary charge, a felony stalking charge in and two misdemeanor offenses.
According to court documents, Troy entered a guilty plea to second-degree burglary in exchange for the dismissal of a first-degree charge. In the case, he was accused of breaking into an apartment in northwest Rochester and stealing a 9 mm pistol, some prescription pills, and $40 cash. Officials say the break-in was reported in late January and the charges were filed against Troy in March.
He was also charged with first-degree burglary in late March in connection with an incident that occurred last August. Troy was accused of breaking into the home of an ex-girlfriend’s mother before pouring chocolate syrup into the gas tank of the ex-girlfriend’s vehicle. In addition to the burglary charge, Troy also faced a felony stalking charge and two misdemeanor charges that were dropped when he admitted to a gross misdemeanor harassment charge.
Two of the criminal cases against Troy stemmed from incidents last December. In one of them, he entered a guilty plea to a felony terroristic threats charge for allegedly sending a text message threatening to shoot a woman. He was also charged in December with a drug offense that resulted in a guilty plea to a first-degree drug possession charge. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to dismiss a first-degree drug sales charge and to gross misdemeanor weapons-related offenses.
His plea agreement also covered an incident that occurred in early February that resulted in felony counts of domestic assault and witness tampering, along with a misdemeanor domestic assault charge. In that case, he admitted to the misdemeanor charge in exchange for the dismissal of the felony counts.
Troy is scheduled to be sentenced in July. He remains inn the Olmsted County Jail with his bail set at $200,000.
