Alcohol Was Factor in Head-On Crash Just West of Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol says alcohol was a factor in an injury crash near Rochester last night.
The head-on collision was reported just before 10 PM on Highway 14 about a mile west of the 60th Avenue intersection. The State Patrol crash report says a 23-year-old Texas man was driving west in the eastbound lanes of the highway when his pickup collided with an eastbound car in the left lane.
Both drivers were transported to St. Marys Hospital to be treated for what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car was identified as 19-year-old Odin Kamel of Kasson.
One of the drivers could face charges.
The wrong-way driver of the pickup was identified as 23-year-old Sonny Garcia of Pharr, Texas. It is anticipated that he will face criminal charges in connection with the crash.
