2 Rochester Men Sentenced For Road Rage Incidents With Guns
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Two Rochester men have been sentenced to probation for separate road rage incidents involving guns.
23-year-old Dillon Nolan entered a guilty plea to a second-degree assault charge back in May. He was accused of pointing a gun at another motorist during a “rolling dispute" on South Broadway in January. Court documents say Rochester police located Nolan and his vehicle at a parking lot near Apache Mall a short time after the incident was reported and a loaded 9 mm handgun was found in his vehicle in a location accessible to the driver.
The other incident occurred last summer on Highway 52. 35-year-old Aaron Gustafson also entered into a plea agreement in May and admitted to a felony count of threats of violence. He was accused of pointing a handgun in the direction of another vehicle as they were both traveling north on the highway. The criminal complaint says Gustafson also had a loaded 9 mm gun in his possession at the time of his arrest.
Nolan was sentenced to five years on probation, while Gustafson's probation will be in effect for two years. Nolan was also given a stayed three-year prison term that could be enforced if he fails to meet the terms of his probation.
