Festival of Trees Opening Night – Christmas Trees Everywhere
It was the perfect evening for the 28th Annual Festival of Trees, the snow was coming down, Christmas music on the radio for the drive out, and a very festive mood. Walking into the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites was like walking into a Christmas wonderland, decorated trees everywhere throughout the lobby and down the hallway. Advocates for Developmental Disabilities serving Steele County has put on this event, as a fundraiser, and it really works to get the excitement for the Christmas season going.
"Advocates for Developmental Disabilities provides support, advocacy and service to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families in Steele County. I have a child with a developmental delay/disability, and I took part in their support group for Autism for a few years, I have also used their special sitters. It was a joy to go to the opening night event, be entertained, and run into so many people I knew from when my daughter was much younger.
If you did not make it out to the opening night event, you missed out on the entertainment and silent auction, but you can still get out there and enjoy the trees, they will be on display through November 24th, according to the program handed out Friday night.
