COVID 19: Minnesota Reports 17,000 More Tests and 700 New Cases

St Paul (KROC AM News) - Nearly 700 new positive COVID-19 cases were reported to the Minnesota Department of Health Friday, as were six more deaths.
One of the new deaths was a Winona County person in their 80s. The state’s overall death total has risen to 1699.
- The MDH daily report shows the number of positive cases has gone over 64,400. Nearly 7200 involved health care workers.
- More than 17,000 additional tests were reported on Friday, increasing the overall total to over 1.2-million.
- The overall number of COVID patients who were hospitalized has reached 5800. As of Friday, 307 were still being treated in a hospital and 140 were in intensive care.
Records also show the Franciscan nun community at Assisi Heights in Rochester has reported its first COVID case.
