Watch the Stunning Trailer for a New 70mm Restoration of ‘Lawrence of Arabia’
Lawrence of Arabia is one of the most restored movies in cinematic history. Just five years ago for it’s 50th anniversary in 2012 David Lean’s masterpiece got a pristine 4K restoration to mark the occasion, but don’t think that means anyone’s done with it yet. Lawrence of Arabia is returning to theaters soon in 70mm, the way it was meant to be seen, and the new trailer is fittingly gorgeous.
‘LBJ’ Trailer: Woody Harrelson Is a Dead Ringer for Our 36th President
If an esteemed actor gets big enough, you can place a pretty good bet that he’ll be cast as at least one American president in his lifetime. Dunkirk is a big movie for a lot of reasons: it’s Christopher Nolan’s first war epic, it’s told from multiple perspectives featuring all of America’s favorites from across the pond, and it’s the feature film debut of one of the biggest pop stars working today. Harry Styles being in Dunkirk no doubt influenced a lot of the buzz that swirled around this movie early on, and, hey, maybe it’ll get today’s teen girls into Nolan movies. But, apparently Nolan himself had no idea how famous Styles was before he cast him in the movie.

David Lynch Says Movie Trailers These Days Are ‘Really Harmful’
In the weeks before the new season of Twin Peaks premiered, none of the promotional footage we saw gave us any hints about what to expect. That was exactly how David Lynch wanted it: for a show this intricate and bizarre and tempting to try and dissect, there was to be no information that could lend itself to any early fan theorizing. Even the episode descriptions on Showtime’s website (for Episodes 1 and 2: “The stars turn and a time presents itself”) are deliberately oblique. Lynch himself thinks that all the promotional material we’re inundated with before a movie or a show premieres does more harm than good.
