Another MN City Raises Tobacco Age
Research shows that 9 to 10 smokers had their first cigarette before the age of 18. A number of cities are raising the minimum age to buy to tobacco to 21. Minnesota now has 9 of them with St. Peter joining the list this week. Two previous attempts to raise the age had failed this year before the approval on Tuesday.
Other Minnesota cities that have raised the minimum age to purchase tobacco include Bloomington, Falcon Heights, Minneapolis, North Mankato Plymouth, Shoreview, and St. Louis Park.
