St. Cloud State will have 2 days of commencement ceremonies December 12-13 for those graduating after the first semester. SCSU Interim President Larry Dietz joined me on WJON. He says approximately 750 students will be graduated with 2 ceremonies on December 12 with another 4 on December 13.
St. Cloud State announced this summer that they plan to demolish unused academic buildings and residence halls when the money becomes available to do so. SCSU Interim President Larry Dietz joined me on WJON.
Halenbeck Hall has been the home of St. Cloud State basketball since 1965. In 1963 the Minnesota State legislature approved several new buildings on the SCSU campus including the Performing Arts Center, Case Hall and a $2.2 Million physical education building which became Halenbeck Hall.
Last month St. Cloud State made it known their plans to remove unused residence halls. SCSU Interim President Larry Dietz joined me on WJON this week. He says they still intent to remove unused buildings but because the removal of each building would cost approximately $2 Million, there is no timeline to remove these buildings.
St. Cloud State University is undergoing numerous changes which includes financial cuts but the elimination of unused residence halls appears next on the chopping block.
