On an early fall day, it was just nice to get out, sit at a picnic table, people watch, and soak in some sunshine and hear the birds sing. What was also pleasant to hear was the absence of underground ticking noises.

The fair continues on today and into Sunday with still plenty to see and do. The forecast for today, has temps reaching the mid-70s with wind out of the WNW 15-20 mph. It might not be a bad idea to have a sweatshirt with you if you are heading out to enjoy the evening at the fair.

The Steele County Free Fair, is bringing back the fun in 2021, and it all begins tomorrow, here are the things you were looking forward too most about this year's fair!

Being honored and inducted into this year's Hall of Fame are Glen Johnson, Deb McDermott Johnson, and Richard Steinberg.

One of the two individuals wanted by the Steele County Sheriff's Office is being sought for escape from custody, while the other is being sought for a domestic abuse no-contact order violation.

The shooting occurred on Sunday, July 18, at 5:30 PM, when the Owatonna Police Department responded to Dartts Park, on the 600 block of Cherry Street for a report of a shooting.

An Owatonna monther recently posted a heartfelt message to the community surrounding her autistic son Mason, of whom both have recently moved to the community.

These fair food trucks were in Owatonna last summer for a few days in the same spot, and I saw quite a bit of traffic-stopping over that way to enjoy a taste of Minnesota summer.
