Owatonna boys hockey buried Mankato East 11-0 Thursday. The OHS girls won 5-3 at East. Blooming Prairie basketball won their games over Kenyon-Wanamingo.
Owatonna boys and girls hockey each play three games this week. This marks an easier stretch than three games in three days that each team did over the holiday break.
Holiday tournament action continued Wednesday. Owatonna High School wrestler Brandon Moen captured first place at the Rumble on the Red. OHS boys basketball won their home tournament.
What goes up must come down. A puck that seemed to deflect off the ceiling proved to be the game winner for Duluth Denfeld in a 4-3 victory over the Owatonna boys Tuesday.
Regulation wasn't enough for a couple of teams in holiday tournaments Monday. Owatonna High School boys hockey lost 2-1 to Hudson, Wis., while the NRHEG girls rallied past Mayer Lutheran 62-55.
Local basketball, hockey and wrestling teams will travel to a variety of cities to compete in holiday tournaments, beginning as early as Saturday, December 26.
Once again this year the Owatonna High School boys hockey plays at the Heritage holiday hockey tournament in Duluth. Action begins Monday, December 28.
