A Minnesota strawberry farm is closing after 42 years.

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Department says a local veterinarian was seriously injured in what was described as a life-threatening incident yesterday at a farm in Rock Dell Township.

Hi-Way 30 Hogs, located 4 miles west of New Richland, has proposed to double its hog production from 2,400 to 4,800 animals. An environmental review is underway.

The University of Minnesota Extension Service has recognized the Pete and Karen Kasper family as Steele County's Farm Family of the Year for 2017.
