The Tech boys basketball team defeated Little Falls 82-56 in the Section 8-3-A Quarterfinals Tuesday night. The Tigers improve to 18-9 and will play at 2nd seeded Detroit Lakes at 7 p.m. Friday night. Tech is the #3 seed in the section.

The Sartell-St. Stephen boys basketball team won at Elk River Monday night in the Section 8-4-A play-in game 57-54. The Sabres improve to 6-21 and will play at top seeded Rogers Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Preview of the Section 1AAAA boys basketball tournament

The NRHEG boys basketball team is going to state for the first time. The Panthers survived a rugged Section 2AA tournament with a 65-64 win over Jordan in the finals.

The Minnesota high school basketball all-star games are coming up in early April. The roster was just released for the all-star football game to be held in June.

Each team that won a championship at the Minnesota boys state basketball tournament has done so before. It was my pleasure to assist KDHL in the coverage.

Owatonna finished the boys basketball season with a 14-12 record, which is only good enough for a sixth seed and road game at Lakeville South in the 1AAAA quarterfinals.

The Owatonna boys lost in the regular season finale 67-41 at home. The OHS girls lost at the newly updated Ove Bervan Gym at Austin High School 64-49.
