Bears are out there, but we can coexist by taking a few simple steps.

There has been numerous black bear sightings in Central Minnesota this spring. I was joined by Assistant Director and Biologist Spencer Peter from the North American Bear Center and Northwoods Ecology Hall in Ely, Minnesota.

The Cub was relocated to a wooded area away from the highway where its mother and another Cub promptly joined it.

The cub appeared to the responding deputy to be in 'rough shape' as it seemed to have become 'separated from its mother'.

It's that time of year again where bears are coming out of hibernation and looking for food.
