April Fool's Day

The sheriff delivered the news with a serious, straight face and appeared to confirm what had previously been just a myth in Minnesota-- except that the video was posted on April 1st.

It is that date, the date to be aware of everything, especially when you a) have children and/or b) come from a family of practical jokers. I went looking for the history of April Fool's Day, and why we celebrate it, and I could not find any one source that shows the main reason...

Friday is April Fool's Day. I found one reason for the day is when they moved the new year in 1564 from the end of March to the beginning of January, the French would stick a fish to the back of those that celebrated the new year March 25 to April 1 and were called "Poisson 'd Avril" and that translate to April Fish, which the French think of April Fools...
