Don't look now, but big changes are brewing at Starbucks locations across Minnesota, and it’s not just a new seasonal latte.

Whether you're a fan of foam art or free Wi-Fi, this update might just stir your coffee-loving soul. Because Starbucks quietly announced earlier this week that a change is in the offing for all of its locations here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes and across the country.

And, by the way, there are a *lot* of Starbucks locations across the fruited plain of the United States. While Starbucks itself hasn't published the number of its cafes, according to World Population Review, there are just under 16,000 locations here in the U.S.

California has the most, with 3,080 Starbucks locations, followed by Texas, Florida, and Washington, which is home to the city of Seattle, where the coffee chain was founded. Here in the North Star State, we're ranked 22nd, with around 184 Starbucks locations, according to World Population Review. The data doesn't break down how many of those are stand-alone locations, and how many are located in other businesses, like Target stores.

But no matter which Starbucks location you frequent, whether it's here in the Bold North or some other location, you'll soon notice a big change-- if you're one of those customers who likes to spend a lot of time there, that is.

Well, as long as you're a Starbucks customer, you likely won't notice much of a difference. But, what you might notice is that those folks who used to just spend time in Starbucks without buying anything won't be around anymore.

That's because Starbucks just announced a new code of conduct for its cafes, and it includes the new 'buy something or leave' policy. Axios reports that the coffee giant is rolling back a previous policy that had been in place since 2018 that allowed people to hang around and use their Wi-Fi and bathrooms even if they didn't buy anything.

But not anymore. USA Today says Starbucks announced this change earlier this week, and that according to the policy posted online, 'people who enter the coffee magnet's front doors must now order something from the menu to hang out or use the bathroom,' USA Today reported.

The new code of conduct also prohibits 'any discrimination or harassment, consumption of outside alcohol, smoking, vaping, drug use, and panhandling,' USA Today said, noting that new signs explaining this code will soon be posted at Starbucks cafes across the country.

And while coffee is popular pretty much any time of the day, many of us can't get our day started without a cup of joe, whether or not we have breakfast, right? And speaking of breakfast, keep scrolling to see how many vintage varieties of another morning staple-- cereal-- you remember from back in the day, as well.

Movies and TV shows have always found ways to partner with cereal companies as part of their promotion strategy.
