If you know me at all, you already know I’m a total sucker for anything with fur and floppy ears. So when I saw a way to help our furry friends at the shelter this year… yeah. Instant heart-melt. This is our moment, Rochester. Our chance to be the holiday heroes these pets don’t even know they’re allowed to ask for.

Every year, Paws and Claws helps countless dogs and cats find their FUR-ever homes. And right now, they could use a little extra support to make the holidays a whole lot cozier for the animals spending Christmas in the shelter instead of under someone’s tree.

I mean, let’s be real, if you’re truly ready to change a life, adopting a pet is obviously the ultimate move. BUT, if adopting isn’t in the cards right now, even something as simple as a bag of hot dogs is a huge win. Trust me… my dogs would totally back me up on that.

Paws and Claws released their annual wishlist which is full of super simple things - soap, food, treats, litter, and toys. Nothing wild. Nothing fancy. Just the kinds of everyday items that make life a thousand times easier for the volunteers who care for these pets around the clock.

And here’s the best part: we can actually help check these items off the list. Whether you’re grabbing a few things at Target, tossing some items into your Amazon cart, or cleaning out your garage and realizing you have an unopened bag of pet food from your “foster fail” era… it all matters.

So if you’ve been looking for a sign to do something good this season, this is it. Let’s show Paws and Claws just how big Rochester’s heart really is, and help make sure every pet in their care gets a little holiday magic.

Because honestly? These animals deserve the world. And maybe a few extra treats.
