These cooler nights have me craving fall. Suddenly, a hoodie sounds better than flip-flops, and I’ve caught myself daydreaming about bonfires, pumpkin spice everything, and Friday night lights.

I mean, it really is creeping up on us, ready or not, Halloween stores are already open, back to school shopping is in full force, and football is back on the schedule!

Still, let’s not rush to toss summer aside just yet. If you believe the Farmer’s Almanac, Minnesota is in for a cool and possibly early fall this year. ICYMI: Click here to read the fall forecast for Minnesota.

Fun fact: Daylight Saving Time (DST) was first introduced in the United States during World War I to conserve coal used for heating homes. It was initially unpopular and quickly abolished. However, it made a comeback in the 1960s and was later revised again in 2005 to start earlier and end later in the year.

While most states still observe DST, some, like Minnesota, are pushing to get rid of the time change altogether. Gosh, I wish that would actually happen! Spring kicks my butt every single year - losing that hour always throws me off for days and makes me feel jet-lagged without the perk of a vacation.

Fall, on the other hand, yes, please give me that extra hour of sleep. I cannot wait!

When to Turn Clocks Back in Minnesota This Year?

Daylight Saving Time officially ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 2nd. So before you hit the hay on Saturday night, don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour.
