You don't have to be Irish to get in on the fun of St. Patrick's Day. And this Minnesota city is one of the best places to get your green on in the entire country.

From parades and parties to races and concerts, the Land of 10,000 Lakes is going all out to celebrate the luck 'o the Irish again this year.  But if you're looking to put on your best green attire and raise a pint of Guinness (or other green beer) in one of the best cities in the U.S. for St. Patrick's Day, you'll find it right here in Minnesota.

And, while Minnesota's German and Norwegian ancestry is often noted, Minnesota also has a significant population of Irish descent, as well. According to U.S. Census data, about 11 percent of Minnesota's population says they have at least some Irish ancestry.  Given Minnesota’s current population of approximately 5.7 million, that means around 627,000 Minnesotans have Irish roots.

So it makes sense, then that WalletHub just included Minnesota's capital city of St. Paul on its 2025 list of the Best Cities for St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations. To compile its list, WalletHub says it looked at 200 of the largest cities across 15 key metrics to find the best places to wear green this year.

WalletHub noted that they looked at categories like the number of Irish pubs and restaurants per capita, the lowest price for a three-star hotel on St. Patrick’s Day, and even the St. Patrick's Day weather forecast to come up with their 2025 list.

Specifically, St. Paul placed 11th on the WalletHub list this year, taking the top spot in the Gopher State. The only other Minnesota city to make the list was Minneapolis at #17.
