October has been a wild ride! At the start of the month, forecasters warned us it would be a “roller coaster” in Minnesota, and they were right. We’ve experienced temperatures swinging from the low 60s to the low 80s, with a really nice warm spell recently. But that nice weather won’t stick around for Halloween, so kids will need to bundle up in their costumes before heading out for trick-or-treating.

A cold front is rolling in, and it’s bringing a sharp drop in temperatures along with the chance of some serious storms. Read the latest update from The National Weather Service below.

The NWS says a cold front will move through early Wednesday afternoon, triggering strong to severe storms between 2 PM and midnight.

The biggest threats from these storms are hail and damaging winds. If you’re in the storm’s path, it's a good idea to secure your garbage cans, patio furniture, and any other outdoor items before the winds pick up.
