Quiznos in Downtown Rochester, Minnesota Closing

I'm still not over the fact that Newt's and Hefe Rojo in downtown Rochester are closed.  That news came as a shock to me just a few weeks ago.  And now, it sounds like another spot will soon be empty.

I heard through the internet grapevine today that Quiznos put a sign up indicating they would be closing.  You can't always believe what the internet says though so my plan for Wednesday was to stop over and chat with the owners to see if this rumor was actually true.  Turns out, it is.  Sadly another empty store will soon be happening in downtown Rochester.

A note was placed in the front of the store recently that states the following:

Quiznos is sorry to say that we will be closing our gate sometime after December 2nd.  We thank you for the last 17 years and will miss you all.  Happy Holidays Todd, Gerald and Vivian

Where is Quiznos in Rochester?

If you don't work downtown or visit the downtown Rochester area, you may not even know that another world exists underground in the subway level.  Restaurants, coffee shops, stores, banks, and fun shops all exist down there including the Quiznos which will soon be closing.

When the news broke, quite a few people had no idea that our town even had a Quiznos.  If you were one of the many, our Quiznos was located at 101 1st. Ave. SW Ste. 11.  To get there, you would need to head down to the subway level via stairs, elevator, or escalator in the downtown area.
