A gym that has been part of the Minneapolis community for 16 years is shuttering for good. According to a Reddit post, flyers have been posted all over a popular gym in Minnesota, indicating that the location is closing.

Based on a report from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, there also seems to be a bit of a dispute regarding money. Actually, it is more like a lawsuit.

Lawsuit Filed Against Parent Company of LA Fitness in Minneapolis' Uptown Neighborhood

The parent company of LA Fitness allegedly did not pay its base rent of $60,000 per month from April 2020 through December 2020. As you probably remember, this was the time frame when our state was shut down and we were struggling to find a roll of toilet paper during the pandemic.

Based on the suit that has been filed, the landlord of the property where LA Fitness resides in Minneapolis' Uptown neighborhood has requested the following payments to be paid:

$2.2 Million in late fees
$610,621.46 in interest
$254,831.15 in unpaid rent
