The Faribault Falcons have not lost a game since the year turned to 2023.

In Red Wing Thursday night the Falcons were 3 for 3 on the power play and killed 3 of 4 penalties to win 7-5.

Oliver Linnemann had a hat trick scoring on a power play, short handed and at even strength.

It was tied at 2 after the first period.  Faribault scored 4:18 into the game on a Tommy Kunze, freshman, power play goal with assists by Linnemann, junior and Owen Nesburg, senior.

At 12:07 Nesburg added a power play goal assisted by Linnemann and Kunze.

Red Wing ended the period with goals 37 seconds apart to tie the game.  The Falcons had 12 shots on goal, the Wingers 8.

In the second period the teams each scored two more goals.  The Wingers took the lead thirty seconds into the period.

Linnemann then sped up the ice at 4:43 to tie with a short handed goal.

Faribault took the lead when Beau Velishek, sophomore scored at 10:30 with an assist by Ethan Amundson, sophomore.

With 24 seconds left in the period Red Wing tied the game at 4 on a even strength goal.

The Falcons had 21 shots, Wingers 4 shots on goal.

3:50 into the scheduled final period Linnemann got a power play goal with assists by Kunze and Brody Redding, Sophomore.

Amundson padded the Falcons lead at 10:30 with assists by Velishek and Nesburg.

At 10:49 the Wingers made the game more interestiing with a power play goal to make it 6 t0 5.

12:14 Linnemann hammered home a even strength score thanks to assists by Amundson and Logan Peroutka, junior.

In the third period Red Wing had 18 shots on goal, Faribault 17.

The shots total was 50 for Faribault, 30 for the Wingers

Dustin Boyd started the game in net stopping 8 of 12 shots.  Jacob Sherf came on in relief allowing one goal with 17 saves.

Faribault travels to Riverside Arena in Austin tomorrow to play the Austin Packers. Game broadcast on KDHL Radio, 920 AM, 97.9 FM, on FREE KDHL app.
