Faribault Softball Rolls Over Austin
The Faribault Falcons defeated Austin 13-3 in five innings Monday at Alexander Park in Faribault.
Rylee Sietsema, junior went 3 innings, Aly Cook, 8th grade, the final two innings in the pitcher's circle. Sietsema allowed 3 runs, 2 earned with 2 hits, 3 walks, 2 strikeouts.
Cook allowed no runs, 3 hits with no walks and no strikeouts.
Austin scored 2 runs in the first, answered by Faribault's 3 runs.
The Packers added a run in the second inning, answered by Faribault's 4 runs,
The Falcons added 5 runs in the third and a run in the fifth to end the game in five.
Five Faribault players had a multi-RBI game, two multi-hits game as they cranked out 10 hits to Austin's 5 hits,
Amanda Cullen had 3 hits, scored 3 times with 1 RBI and a stolen base. Olivia Smith 2 hits, 2 RBI, Amira Williams 1 hit, 2 RBI. Emma Minnick 2 RBI, Jamie Adamek a hit and 3 RBI, Brooke Racine 1 hit, 2 RBI.
The Falcons had 2 errors in the win and have won 3 of their last 4 games.
Faribault goes to Rochester John Marshall Tuesday for a 5:00 p.m. game.
