The street is just steps from a memorial he and others played a significant role in building.
Last year, the Rochester City Council approved renaming a section of 2nd Ave. and 7th St. Southwest after Wayne Stillman. The stretch of street is now called Wayne Stillman Parkway Southwest.

A news release issued by the city announcing the new street name points out that the name change now makes Soldiers Field Park’s address 300 Wayne Stillman Pkwy Southwest.
Stillman passed away in May 2024 at the age of 86. He owned and operated Stillman Office Machines along 6th St. Southwest for many years and was heavily involved in honoring local military veterans.
Stillman helped lead the effort to raise funds for the construction and future maintenance of the Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial in Rochester, which was dedicated in 2000 and quickly became one of the community's most cherished landmarks.
Following the completion of the memorial, Stillman remained very active in honoring military veterans.
