Charges: Wanted St. Paul Man Busted With Machine Gun-Style Firearm During Rochester, MN Arrest

Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office Apprehension Deputies were following 30-year-old Richard Larue Taylor in an attempt to apprehend him on an active warrant. The court document does not say what the St. Paul man was wanted for.

Using GPS, law enforcement tracked Taylor from St. Paul to Rochester on Thursday. Deputies confirmed Taylor was a passenger in a vehicle that stopped at an unnamed northwest Rochester gas station, the complaint says.

Law enforcement found and surrounded the vehicle. Taylor then allegedly fled deputies on foot and was eventually chased down and captured, the charges state.

During a subsequent search of Taylor, deputies found a loaded Glock handgun that was equipped with an extended magazine, according to the court document.

The firearm also had a semi-automatic sear switch on it, which transforms the weapon into a machine gun, the complaint says.

Court records indicate Taylor was previously convicted of second-degree assault and ineligible firearm possession in a 2016 case.
