SEE CLOSINGS AND DELAYS FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH HERE

A few schools in our Southeast Minnesota area have announced closings for Monday, February 17th, 2025 due to the bitter cold.

HealthPartners warns, "At 15 degrees below zero with even a little bit of wind, frostbite is possible within 15 minutes." As of writing this post this morning, the current air temperature is 10 below zero but feels like 30 below zero.

The high for today is only 4 below zero, so it's going to stay quite cold all day today.

It's important that if you do go out into the cold today you are prepared. Make sure to have plenty of layers with you, even if you just bring them in the car with you, and don't wear them. You don't want to get stranded with not enough warm clothes on a day like today.

Also, make sure you have a winter car kit prepared with things like a shovel and first aid kit.
