Rochester Man Admits to Sexually Assaulting Juvenile Girl

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man is scheduled to be sentenced in January for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

28-year-old Alex Allen Schneider was arrested in July of last year after an arrest warrant was issued for him. According to court records, he was accused of assaulting the juvenile girl while he was an overnight guest at her home following a birthday party.

The criminal complaint says, after the victim reported the assault, investigators learned that he had allegedly confessed to the victim's family and told one person, "it just happened...I just messed up."

He was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Through a plea agreement, he entered a guilty plea to one of the charges. The plea deal recommends a downward departure from state sentencing guidelines if a pre-sentence investigation determines compelling circumstances exist.
