Public Meeting Set for 2024 Roundabout Project in Southeast Minnesota
Goodhue, MN (KROC-AM News)- There’s a public meeting scheduled for this week regarding a new roundabout project in southeast Minnesota.
The event is an open-house format and does not include a formal presentation. It takes place Tuesday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Goodhue Lions Center at 105 Broadway St. in Goodhue.
A MnDOT news release says the open house is a chance for Goodhue-area residents to review materials, ask questions and learn how to stay connected to information regarding the installation of a roundabout along Hwy. 58 on the eastern end of the town of just over 1,100 people.
Construction on a roundabout at the intersection of Hwy. 58 and Goodhue County Rd. 9 is slated to start in April. MnDOT says motorists using the county road and state highway should anticipate detours during the work.
Crews are planning to detour County Rd. 9 traffic in April and detouring traffic on Hwy. 58 in mid-May. Local access to the City of Goodhue will be maintained during the detours, MnDOT says.
Those unable to attend Tuesday’s meeting can view the project materials online at the project’s website. The estimated $2.4 million project is set to be completed by early July.
