Olmsted County Jail Detainee Faces Felony in Urine Assault Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A felony charge has been lodged against a man accused of assaulting a detention deputy in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center.
A criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court alleges that 35-year-old Dion Desmond Dower threw urine onto the face and chest of the deputy on the morning of August 30. The court document says the deputy was delivering a breakfast tray to Dower, who is accused of throwing the urine at the officer when he opened the trap door in his cell to give him his meal.
Deputy Identified Liquid as Urine by Smell
The complaint states the deputy immediately knew the liquid was urine because of the smell. He reported it struck his face, left arm, and uniform.

According to the complaint, Dower told an investigator that he threw the urine at the deputy because of an issue with receiving his medication the previous night.
Felony Assault Charge Filed Against Jail Inmate
Dower is facing a felony charge of fourth-degree assault on a correctional employee. The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office website indicates he is being detained on felony charges of threats of violence and drug possession, along with several misdemeanor offenses.
