Guilty Plea From Rochester Man For Sexual Contact With Juvenile
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man is expected to receive a jail sentence after admitting to a felony criminal sexual conduct charge.
30-year-old Timmothy Robert Johnson was charged two years ago with a single count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a victim under 16 years old. According to the criminal complaint, Johnson was accused of repeatedly inappropriately touching a juvenile female on at least 10 occasions.
The court document says the girl reported the alleged sexual misconduct in the fall of 2020. The charges state that she had told a friend at her Middle School in Rochester about the abuse, which led to an investigation by Rochester Police.
The criminal complaint says Johnson was interviewed by an investigator and indicated he could not recall a time he was inappropriate with the victim. He did admit consuming alcohol while at the victim's residence and had gotten drunk on occasions.
Under the terms of a plea agreement, Johnson has entered a Norgaard plea to the second-degree criminal sexual conduct charge. That means he admits he is guilty but does not remember his actions due to intoxication.
A plea deal recommends a jail sentence not to exceed 45 days and probation. The judge hearing the case has ordered a psychosexual evaluation prior to sentencing.
