Preston, MN (KROC-AM News) - Additional cases of measles have been confirmed in southeastern Minnesota.

Measles Cases in Fillmore County

A news release issued by Fillmore County Public Health indicates that, as of October 1, three cases of the highly infectious and potentially serious, sometimes fatal infection have been confirmed in Fillmore County. The confirmation of the first case was reported on September 17.

Additional Measles Cases Anticipated

Because measles is highly contagious, the news release says the case count may continue to rise in the coming days and weeks. With the confirmation of the new cases, there are now 27 confirmed cases of measles in Minnesota over the past year, including three in Olmsted County last October.
