Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester Police revived two people and reported discovering fentanyl pills at the scenes of two separate overdoses Sunday.

Police Captain Casey Moilanen said the first overdose report came in at 6:30 Sunday evening. Officers responded to an area near the intersection of Hwy 14 and Marion Rd. Southeast.

Moilanen said a man’s nephew called 911 suspecting his uncle had overdosed in a vehicle. Responding officers found the 38-year-old man unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Police administered two doses of Narcan and the man came to after being loaded into a Mayo Clinic Ambulance. The victim told officers he had used cocaine prior to overdosing, according to Moilanen. 

Officers also found a blue M30 fentanyl-laced pill at the scene, Moilanen said. Investigators are unsure what caused the man to overdose.

Officers then responded to the second overdose about a half hour later at a residence in the 1500 block of 4th Ave. Southwest. A 34-year-old man’s sister called 911 and reported she was unable to reach her brother after he went into the bathroom to shower.

Responding officers opened the bathroom door and found the unconscious man lying on the floor. Moilanen said the officers administered three doses of Narcan and said the man regained consciousness while being loaded into an ambulance.

The subject told officers he had taken fentanyl pills prior to the overdose.
