Emergency Response Team Makes Arrest, Seizes Drugs and Firearms in Winona
Winona, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Winona County Emergency Response Team arrested a Winona man Friday as the result of a search warrant issued as part of a narcotics investigation.
The Winona Police Department said in a news release that officers brought 24-year-old Antoine Davis into custody at a residence in the 250 block of Sioux St. in Winona. Members of the Winona County Emergency Response Team, Winona Police Department, Winona County Sheriff’s Office, Southeast Minnesota Violent Crimes Enforcement Team executed the search warrant at 9 a.m.
Several individuals at the residence obeyed the officer's commands to leave and Davis was taken into custody without any injuries being reported. Authorities seized three firearms, an unspecified amount and kind of controlled substances and cash, the news release says.
Court records indicate Davis had violated his probation stemming a second-degree aggravated robbery conviction and two felony drug possession convictions in Mower County. The Winona Police Department said officers called in the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle as part of the search warrant service due to the “seriousness of the incident,” the news release states.
Davis was initially brought to the Winona County Jail before being transferred to the Mower County jail. Jail records indicate he was booked into the Mower County Jail at 4:52 p.m. Friday.
