Austin, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police in Austin are investigating an armed robbery at a gas station.

Austin Police Chief Dave McKichan says officers responded to the robbery around 9:20 Wednesday night. 

He said employees provided a description of the suspect. Police also have released photos of the suspect.

Police Investigating Wednesday Night Armed Robbery at Buy the Way Foodmart in Austin, MN

The armed robbery occurred at Buy the Way Foodmart, which is located in the 1200 block of East Oakland Place SE. 

McKichan says the suspect, wearing black gloves, a black mask, a plain black hoodie, with black pants and unknown shoes, produced a handgun from a dark bag.

Employees described the armed robber as a man with brown of black skin. They told police the suspect ran north on 12th St. NE, which is east of the store, after the robbery, McKichan said.

No injuries were reported. McKichan did not say what the suspect robbed from the store, however one of the photos released by police appears to show cash on the counter.

As of Thursday morning no arrest has been announced. Police are continuing to investigate.
