Ramsey, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash on an icy Twin Cities highway claimed the life of a five-year-old boy Thursday evening.

The State Patrol says a four-year-old passenger and 32-year-old driver were also hurt in the deadly crash. The tragic incident occurred along Hwy. 10/169 at Armstrong Blvd. in Ramsey shortly before 7 p.m.

The state crash report indicates an SUV traveling west lost control on the slippery highway, left the roadway to the right, struck a cement wall and rolled before coming to rest on its roof in the right lane. All of the vehicle’s occupants, who are from Becker, MN, were taken to a hospital in Coon Rapids where the young boy died from his injuries.

The State Patrol identified the boy as Elijah Reardon. The other child in the vehicle, identified as Avery Reardon, suffered what are described as life-threatening injuries and the driver, identified as Amanda Reardon, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. 

All three of the occupants were buckled up. Alcohol was not a factor in causing the deadly crash, according to the crash report.

If you've got kids, I highly recommend heading out to let your little ones explore the outdoor classroom that is right next to the parking lot by Zollman Zoo in Byron, Minnesota. It is A-Maz-Ing! Tunnels, musical instruments, planets that you have to find, and even a teeter-totter made out of a log is there to enjoy. Probably one of my favorites though is what I call "Little Bean". I snapped a selfie with it and a few photos to give you a glimpse at the exhibits. Check those out below...
