The Royalton Fire & Rescue Department has pledged to match the T-Mobile $25,000 grant that has already been won by the school. The department announced on social media Sunday night, and the pledge was confirmed by a member of the Royalton Football coaching staff this afternoon in a phone interview. On top of the matching donation, Royalton Fire & Rescue also issued a statewide challenge.

Friday Night 5G Lights Seeks To Shine A Light On Royalton

On Friday, it was announced that Royalton High School made the top-25 schools in the country, putting them in line for a shot at the million-dollar grand prize, but to get there, it will take the efforts of more than Royalton; it is going to take the state of Minnesota to help secure the win.

By securing their spot in the top-25, the school was automatically granted a $25,000 grant to go towards the school's football field. Talking with assistant coach Brad Baumann, who also filled out the school's application, it wasn't immediately clear what the $25K would go towards.

$25K Quickly Has Turned Into $50K

On Sunday night, the Royalton Fire & Rescue Department pledged to match the initial $25,000 winnings and then issued a challenge to not only the community but to anyone voting daily.

The Royalton Fire Relief Association has always, and will continue to be, committed to youth safety and enrichment. In support of this mission, we are proud to announce that we will be MATCHING T-MOBILE'S $25,000 GRANT!

But that's not all, we're challenging everyone to get involved! For EVERY VOTE CAST, the Royalton Fire Relief Association will contribute $1.00 PER VOTE, UP TO AN ADDITIONAL $25,000.

Together, we can make this dream a reality for Royalton Public Schools. Please remember to VOTE DAILY USING ALL OF YOUR EMAIL ADDRESSES, AND ENCOURAGE FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO DO THE SAME.

Thank you for your continued support, and as always, GO ROYALS!

The department challenged everyone to vote, and for every additional vote the school received, they would pledge $1, up to an additional $25,000. In total, Royalton's Fire & Rescue Department could donate $50,000 towards improvements to the football field.

How You Can Help

All you need to do is vote daily, using your email at the following link:

Encourage your friends and family to also vote daily, as the school as of Friday afternoon was in 12th place, with only the top school receiving the million-dollar grand prize.
