Right before the Minnesota State Fair starts, it was announced you'd be attending one of the Top 10 fairs in the nation. We're less than two weeks out from the start of the Great Minnesota Get Together, which runs Aug. 21-Labor Day, Sept. 1. Can you believe we've already reached that time of year? What made our state fair stand out? Let's see how USA Today decided that our fair was the best.

We're Number 1! Voted The Best Fair In The Nation!

USA Today had an "expert panel" that "nominated their top picks for state fairs, then readers voted to decide who gets the blue ribbons." It turns out that the passionate Minnesota State Fair fan base rallied enough votes to take the top spot, beating out other state fairs like Iowa, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Even the State Fair posted to social media the humble brag of being number 1.

Midwest Seems To Be The Best (At State Fairs)

Looking at the Top-10 list, it seems state fairs are a Midwestern phenomenon, as Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin were joined by fellow Midwestern states like Indiana and Ohio, which collectively hold 5 of the top-10 spots.

What Did USA Today Readers Say About Minnesota's State Fair?

"The Minnesota State Fair is one of the region’s most widely attended activities, drawing nearly two million visitors every year. The fair is located on a 320-acre fairground and typically runs from late August into Labor Day. It’s one of the nation’s biggest fairs, employing 80 full-time employees and about 2,000 people during fair time, and it has enormous economic impact on the Twin Cities and surrounding areas."

The last time the Minnesota State Fair was the 'best' was a decade ago in 2015, which to us seems like a decade of disrespect, but maybe we are a little biased.
