Superior Schools Just Changed How Students Access Care
The Superior School District has notified parents about a new partnership with Essentia Health that aims to improve access to health care for students in grades 6 through 12.
A New On-Campus Health Option in Superior
According to the district, the new program will be known as Spartan Clinics and will be available to students and staff at Superior High School and Superior Middle School. These clinics will offer virtual health care visits on campus, using secure and private rooms located near each school’s health office.

The district says the goal is to bring care closer to where students already spend their day, instead of sending families across town or out of school during the workday.
What Services Will Be Available
The Spartan Clinics are expected to open after students return from winter break. Once launched, the clinics will provide access to Essentia’s Urgent Care and 24 7 telecare team through secure, interactive video visits.

Services will include care for minor and acute illnesses, minor injuries, behavioral health needs, and primary care concerns. The district says these visits will take place in a private setting designed to protect student confidentiality.
Why the District Says This Matters For Superior
District officials say this move is focused on making health care easier for students and families without adding extra stress to already busy schedules. By offering services on campus, students can receive care faster, which may help reduce wait times and missed class time.
The district also points out that fewer off-site appointments could mean less time parents or guardians need to leave work to transport students to physical clinics. By using Essentia’s established virtual care system, the district says the process will feel familiar while improving efficiency and convenience.
More Information for Families
The Superior School District has also shared a set of frequently asked questions and additional details about the program. That information includes how insurance will be used, account requirements, privacy protections, and how scheduling will work for students and families.
