With more than 10,000 lakes scattered around Minnesota, it should come as no surprise that some of the best lake beaches in America can be found in the state—and this new list confirms that.

USA Today is currently holding their 2025 Reader’s Choice Awards, looking for the 10 best lake beaches in the United States. If you’re thinking, “this is Minnesota’s category,” you’re right.

Antlers Park Beach in Lakeville

Antlers Park Beach at Marion Lake in Lakeville is one of the state’s nominees. Located just south of the Twin Cities, this beach offers a scenic place to swim. Local anglers also love the high populations of bluegill and crappies in the lake. Plus, the park features a playground, horseshoe pits, and a great picnic area.

Bde Maka Ska North Beach in Minneapolis

This beach in Minneapolis is a favorite for swimmers and sunbathers. It’s also a great spot for kayaking and biking, thanks to nearby trails that circle the area. A perfect summer hangout right in the heart of the city.

Father Hennepin State Park on Mille Lacs Lake

Located in Isle, this state park’s beach sits on the southeastern shore of Mille Lacs Lake and is surrounded by lush forest. It’s a popular swimming destination all summer long and a scenic spot for nature lovers.
