Smoky Weekend In Store For Northern Minnesota
Summer is in full swing! July goes way too fast in Duluth and I am trying not to be sad about the fact that it is seemingly halfway over.
There's so much to look forward to in July, including the famous Festival Of Sail, which brings the largest rubber duck in the country to Lake Superior.

It is also one of our warmest months and this particular July has been no different. The Fourth of July was insanely hot all across the Northland!
We also get severe weather, like strong storms and heavy rain. It looks like we will be dealing with yet another weather factor this weekend: smoke.
National Weather Service Of Duluth Shares Smoky Forecast
The National Weather Service of Duluth shared a smoky forecast for the weekend, kicking off today (July 11th) and continuing through most of tomorrow. This area of smoke will reduce air quality quickly.

There are currently wildfires burning in central Canada, making their way to our neck of the woods. Things will improve, although slowly, once this area of smoke moves through. You should plan to limit time outdoors during this window.
Very Unhealthy Air Quality Expected For Duluth Friday & Saturday
The air quality will be moderate to unhealthy for most of the time this area of smoke moves through but could be upgraded to very unhealthy for a period of time. According to their forecast, the area of smoke will move out by Saturday (July 12th) evening.

However, we may see some lingering smoke into Sunday. We know the deal by now: limit time outdoors, like I mentioned, and make sure you check on your family and neighbors. Rain is also in the forecast so it will be an eventful weekend!
