They make long-term weather predictions by region and you have to take them all with a grain of salt! Some believe in their methodology and others do not.

I always glance at it at the start of a new month or if I am curious about a month ahead. That is the case in this instance.

Recently, a weather analyst warned about a brutally cold January for the midwest. Is the Old Farmer's Almanac predicting the same thing?

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, it will be very frigid in January - and even colder than usual. Per their predictions, it will be frigid for the first week of the new year.

Yes, it usually is, but this just reinforces that it will be very cold to start out 2025! We will then get a few days of mild temperatures before temperatures drop yet again.

The Old Farmer's Almanac also says that late January will be one of the coldest periods of winter this season. Yikes!

All in all, we will be about one degree below our average in January, which is in the teens. The Old Farmer's Almanac is also predicting a pretty snowy month as well!

According to their predictions, we will see snow and flurries off and on, aside from the first few days of the new year. Only six more months until summer!
