Voyageurs Wolf Project has released another video showcasing the amazing wildlife we have in our forests. The video is a compilation of short clips of wildlife being captured on video.

You'll see a bunch of different animals. This is the first time I've witnessed badgers caught on a trail camera. Of course, there were plenty of wolves seen. That would make sense because that's what the Voyageurs Wolf Project is about.

The Voyageurs Wolf Project is a University of Minnesota research project that was tasked with the question, What do wolves do during the summer? They wanted to study the wolf population in Northern Minnesota and understand their behaviours, reproduction, den location, and what else the wolves are doing during the summer.

You'll notice a wolf wearing a GPS collar. They use those to help study den sites and the wolves' rendezvous sites. In the winter, wolves hunt as a pack. But, as we have learned through the Voyageurs Wolf Project, they become solitary predators in the summer. They are working to understand their behaviour.

Some of the coolest things captured are the moose in Northern Minnesota. It's amazing to see how these adult bull and cow moose don't even fit into the frame of the trail camera because they are so tall! Can you imagine running into a moose in the forest? I've seen a moose in person a few times, and each time it's just amazing how huge these animals are.
