
Minnesota City Named Among Least Frugal In The U.S.
Better luck next year? One Minnesota city was just named one of the least frugal in the entire country. Most people want to be frugal but just aren't. I am one of those people. Ha!
This is a good time to look over your finances and adjust accordingly for the new year. One of the most popular resolutions every year is to cut back on spending. It's so hard!

Some people are amazingly frugal and others spend without thinking. I think we are all guilty of that once in awhile - especially if you live in this Minnesota city, that is.
Best Money just released a list of the most and least frugal cities in the country and surprisingly, a top Minnesota city was found just a few spots away from the bottom of the list. Oops.

Best Money just shared this list at the end of November and it was pretty surprising to say the least. As they point out, being frugal is a mindset and you really have to change your ways to adopt it.

To craft this list, analysts talked to more than 2,400 people across the country in forty different cities. Cities that weren't surveyed were not considered for this list.
They were asked about their spending habits, like what sacrifices they make to save money and what expensive items they swap out for others. They were then given a score out of 100.
Minnesota City Named One Of the Least Frugal Cities - Yikes!
Minneapolis did not do well here, coming in near the bottom of the list. Minneapolis came in at number 38 out of 40, which means they have some lifestyle changes to adopt before the new year. It is pretty hard though!

It looks like Minneapolis residents aren't swapping out expensive items for less expensive items and have some room to grow when it comes to saving money. Maybe they will be at the top of the list next year.
As for the most frugal cities? That would be Seattle, Denver and Phoenix. The only cities that are less frugal than Minneapolis are Boston and Miami.
Like I said, this is the perfect time to reassess your spending, especially in a time when everything is so expensive. There's many ways to be frugal. Give me your best money saving tip!
