Secret Menu Item Is My New Favorite At Superior’s Guadalajara
Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant in Superior has always been our family's favorite place to go whenever we have a birthday. We parents love the food (and the margaritas are the best in town), and our kids love the endless baskets of tortilla chips and queso.
I normally order steak fajitas with corn tortillas. It's been my go-to. If I don't get that, I typically will have the carne asada. Both are delicious. But this time I wanted to try something different, so I scoured through the menu.
A pretty trendy Mexican dish these days is Birria Tacos. It's slow-cooked beef that's marinated in an adobo. The meat is then put in a corn tortilla with cheese and fried into a taco. It comes with the broth, so you can dip your taco. It's become my new favorite since the first time I tried it a year ago.

I looked over the beef specialties on the menu and couldn't find it. I did, however, find quesabirria listed under the chicken specialties section of the menu. It said it was "corn tortillas filled with meat and cheese and served with a beef broth." Even though it was under the chicken section, it was enough for me to ask if they offered it with beef.
So, when it came time to order, I asked if they had beef birria tacos, and she said absolutely, and that's what I ordered.
And let me tell you, it's my new favorite dish at Guadalajara's. Pair that with a lime margarita on the rocks with salt on the rim, and I'm in heaven!
